As mentioned in this blog post, I am on a never ending search for the perfect, nutritious, and tasty protein supplement. I have already proclaimed that I had ended my search, however, it has since been reopened. Mini-Me (my younger sister, we are often mistaken as twins), is majoring in Nutrition at her university. I love her health and diet tips and suggestions.
I have been looking far and wide for a protein supplement that I’ve actually wanted to stick with for as long as I can remember. And I think I might just have found it! I recently learned that a friend of mine was getting into form and physique competitions so, I’ve started to pick her brain about her workouts, when and what she eats, and her favorite protein supplement. I first came across the book Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss on a blog I follow called What Would John Mack Eat? This New York Times Best Seller that was published about a year ago details the food process that food giants implement to “hide” unhealthy, cheap, and addicting ingredients to get consumers hooked on their processed foods. Ironically, those three ingredients are salt, sugar, and fat, as hinted in the name of the book. (more…)
The month of March is National Nutrition Month! National Nutrition month is a campaign sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. And, in my opinion, it couldn’t come at a better time! I think that all the lazy New Years resolution go getters have probably just about forgotten their goals and aspirations… So what a better way to kick their asses back into gear. Seriously America, if you could get your shit together and stop being obese, that’d be great.
