I have been seriously craving Asian food lately, so I have been hanging out in the Asian ethnic aisle in my grocery store. I had a Japanese childhood friend, and I remembered eating dried seaweed sheets at her house, so I decided to give them a try again. This pack was about $5, and it was totally worth it! These crunchy and salty sheets are delicious. And, as it turns out, seaweed is super healthy for you too. According to the Huffington Post, we should all be eating more of it. Definitely give these a try!
TECH NERD ALERT:Today is the 25th birthday of the world wide web! Shout out to all the engineers who have made blogging possible for us. I am so grateful to live in this day and age where we can take advantage of such amazing technology. Confession: I am a self coveted Google worshiper. Everything they do makes me want to learn more about technology. And, they happened to have written a great blog post celebrating today’s occasion. (more…)
I have been looking far and wide for a protein supplement that I’ve actually wanted to stick with for as long as I can remember. And I think I might just have found it! I recently learned that a friend of mine was getting into form and physique competitions so, I’ve started to pick her brain about her workouts, when and what she eats, and her favorite protein supplement. She suggested that I check out the brand Beverly International. (more…)
Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss
I first came across the book Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss on a blog I follow called What Would John Mack Eat? This New York Times Best Seller that was published about a year ago details the food process that food giants implement to “hide” unhealthy, cheap, and addicting ingredients to get consumers hooked on their processed foods. Ironically, those three ingredients are salt, sugar, and fat, as hinted in the name of the book. (more…)
I. LOVE. BREAKING. BAD. So, it deserves it’s own post. I watched the entire show, all the seasons, and I am thinking about starting again from the beginning to catch all the things I missed the first time around when I was binge watching it. On an aside, when doing a little bit more research for this post, I googled “cooking meth,” TAKE THAT NSA! But really, I should probably delete that from my browser history…
When I said I was in love with PaleOMG, I was not kidding. Sorry, I’m not sorry. Today I made Juli’s Snack Attack: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Balls. This is my shit. In my opinion, ‘balls’ should’ve been spelled ‘bawls,’ but that’s irrelevant. I made these once before and they turned out amazing. They were a great snack to grab for breakfast when I’m running late for work, or when I’m too lazy to actually make something substantial. Comments in BOLD. BALL ON, BITCHES. (more…)
So, my current snack food addiction is the kettle corn from Angie’s Popcorn. OMFG. This is my shit. My local grocery store carries this popcorn in the organic section and it is absolutely delicious. I might be physically addicted to it. Seriously, I eat it almost every single day. If you haven’t already, try it.
