It is currently my favorite season of the year, PUMPKIN FLAVORED THINGS SEASON. So, this morning I decided to try out a new pumpkin scones recipe. They turned out moist and delicious, even those I opted to make them without the sugar laden glaze… I would highly recommend this recipe, I had mine with a cup of green tea with honey, perfect! Pumpkin on, BITCHES!
This morning I adventured out into the country to a “pick-your-own” farm. This time of the year they had strawberries and black raspberries. If you have never gone to pick your own berries, I would highly recommend it! I got a good tan, and some healthy (pesticide free) amazing berries. I knew I needed to make something with them so I didn’t just sit and eat them all until I got sick. I decided that lemon raspberry scones sounded delicious. Here is the recipe I found, it turned out delicious. Definitely making this again. I can’t wait to go pick more berries next weekend. BAKE ON, BITCHES!
In attempt to be more conscious of the processed foods I am putting in my body, I decided to try to make my own English muffins. I was a little bit intimidated, but for my first attempt I was quite pleased! I found a recipe from Alton Brown on the Food Network website, but I ended up preparing them a bit differently than the original recipe. See my notes at the bottom. BAKE UP, BITCHES!
I was really really craving carbs today. So, I went in search of a (quick) relatively healthy recipe. The quick requirement cut out lots of bread options… Okay, pretty much most traditional bread recipes. I decided upon this Lemon Scone recipe. I had all the ingredients (for once!) and it had very good reviews. They turned out so amazingly soft, flaky, and buttery. I nearly ate the entire batch straight after I took them out of the oven. Seriously. So. Good.
So, I am now back onto my muffin tin baking kick… This morning I was trying to figure out what to make for breakfast, and I decided to check out bodybuilding.com because I have come across some protein powder recipes in the past. I decided to make these Whey Great Protein Muffins (Which is number 5 on their list of 7 Amazing Protein Breakfast Recipes). I was kind of skeptical because of the short list of 3 ingredients, but I decided to make them anyway because the nutrition facts looks too good to be true. (more…)
So, this evening as a was contemplating what to eat for supper I realized that my fridge and pantry were quite bare. If you’ve read any of my other posts, you are likely noticing a trend. I really wanted to make these No-Bake Energy Bites from Gimme Some Oven, however I found myself without shredded coconut. So, first I cried a little bit. (more…)
I am on a mild health kick currently. I am trying to work out at least 5 days a week, eat healthy, and get enough sleep. Sounds so easy in theory, right? Shit, was I wrong. Said healthy kick was my initial motivation to try and make oat bran muffins. I was not totally sold at first that they were going to taste even halfway decent. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Check out the recipe below. I just used the one off my box of oat bran, because, I’m really creative and all. (more…)
This morning while I was looking for something to eat for breakfast, I realized that my cupboards were particularly bare… like, if someone broke in it might look like no one actually lived here. Unless they looked in my closet, that is. I did have a box of pancake mix though, but regular pancakes are boring as shit. So, I decided to make them not boring! (more…)
