It is currently my favorite season of the year, PUMPKIN FLAVORED THINGS SEASON. So, this morning I decided to try out a new pumpkin scones recipe. They turned out moist and delicious, even those I opted to make them without the sugar laden glaze… I would highly recommend this recipe, I had mine with a cup of green tea with honey, perfect! Pumpkin on, BITCHES!
I was really really craving carbs today. So, I went in search of a (quick) relatively healthy recipe. The quick requirement cut out lots of bread options… Okay, pretty much most traditional bread recipes. I decided upon this Lemon Scone recipe. I had all the ingredients (for once!) and it had very good reviews. They turned out so amazingly soft, flaky, and buttery. I nearly ate the entire batch straight after I took them out of the oven. Seriously. So. Good.
I seriously can’t describe how ecstatic I am that I found this recipe. I am usually skeptical of the “it tastes just like this restaurant/food chain!” recipes. I am often skeptical. However, i decided to make this one because, well, I basically had no groceries in my house. I like to keep dry yeast around for occasions such as this when there is nothing else to eat but bread and water.
First of all, THESE ARE SO EASY TO MAKE. Second of all, kale is one of the healthiest vegetables around. Kale is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, and vitamin A (Check out the full nutrition facts, here). These “chips” are a great way to quickly prepare this superfood. Plus, if you have a taste for potato chips, these will satisfy the salty crunch that you are craving.
So, this evening as a was contemplating what to eat for supper I realized that my fridge and pantry were quite bare. If you’ve read any of my other posts, you are likely noticing a trend. I really wanted to make these No-Bake Energy Bites from Gimme Some Oven, however I found myself without shredded coconut. So, first I cried a little bit. (more…)
THESE COOKIES ARE THE SHIT. This recipe is just from the back of the bag of Reese’s peanut butter chips that you can buy at most grocery stores. It is hands down one of my favorite recipes. These are always a huge hit at parties and disappear from my office kitchen in a matter of minutes. So, you should probably make them. BAKE ON, BITCHES! (more…)
I am on a mild health kick currently. I am trying to work out at least 5 days a week, eat healthy, and get enough sleep. Sounds so easy in theory, right? Shit, was I wrong. Said healthy kick was my initial motivation to try and make oat bran muffins. I was not totally sold at first that they were going to taste even halfway decent. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Check out the recipe below. I just used the one off my box of oat bran, because, I’m really creative and all. (more…)
Finally, a post that doesn’t involve a muffin pan!
I am kind of infatuated with the idea of the Paleo diet. I don’t completely follow it, but I am definitely trying to make changes in my diet and food choices. I came across this Paleo Baked Apple Crumble recipe from The Ginger Juicer, and obviously I had to make it immediately. The recipe is stupid simple, so even you dumbasses out there can follow along without setting off the smoke alarm in your kitchen. (more…)
