Baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) is possibly the most underrated, cheap, multi-purpose compound. There are literally hundreds of household and beauty uses. I might actually get a “NaHCO3 for Life” tattoo sometime in the future… Seriously, it is that amazing. I will likely be making additions to this post in the future as I think of more, “Oh yeah! That too” uses. And if I missed any or if you have any secret tips, please leave them in the comments! (more…)
A while ago mini-me (my sister) sent me a recipe for Crunchy Quinoa Granola which looks amazing. So, I wanted to try it this morning BUT there was one serious problem. I didn’t feel like rinsing my quinoa… because it is so much work, I know. I am just lazy on Sunday mornings, okay? Give me a break! So I decided to make the recipe without the quinoa, and without raisins, and without flax seeds because I had none… but with the addition of shredded coconut and extra cinnamon, it turned out AMAZING. Bake on, BITCHES! (more…)
There is an amazing restaurant in my hometown called Pad Thai. Believe it or not, their pad thai noodle dish is absolutely TO DIE FOR. I am not really sure why I haven’t just asked them for their recipe yet, next time I go I certainly will. For now, my never ending quest is to duplicate the delicious flavors in their signature dish. I am pretty sure if I am ever on death row, I would request Pad Thai pad thai noodles. They are that good. I promise. Anyway, here was my most recent attempt, which turned our relatively decent, and I actually pretty much followed the recipe as is!
Buzzfeed is at it again with their mouthwatering food lists. My new favorite is 17 Ways to Eat More Nutella. I’ve made Nutella cookies before, but this list is a complete game changer. I am going to set the goal to make every single one of these recipes in all their sweet hazelnutty goodness. (more…)
So, this evening as a was contemplating what to eat for supper I realized that my fridge and pantry were quite bare. If you’ve read any of my other posts, you are likely noticing a trend. I really wanted to make these No-Bake Energy Bites from Gimme Some Oven, however I found myself without shredded coconut. So, first I cried a little bit. (more…)
My mini-me baby sister (everyone thinks we’re twins, and I’m 4 years older… I’m not even mad because we do look exactly alike) is currently studying dietetics in college and it has been so amazing to learn REAL things about diet and nutrition from her. My knowledge base prior to her studies was basically internet articles… and everyone knows that 100% of the content on the internet is 100% scientifically accurate and well sourced!! (more…)
Roses are red,
violets are blue.
I haven’t made a post lately,
sometime soon I’ll make stew.
So, tiramisu is, hands down, one of my top 5 favorite desserts of all time. I am uncertain on the other 4 right now, but tiramisu it definitely up there. Traditional recipes call for full fat mascarpone cheese and egg yolks. This healthier version uses reduced fat cream cheese, cool whip and only includes egg whites. This recipe super simple and quick to make. The hardest part is waiting 2 hours for it to set in the refrigerator Waiting to eat it might be worse than Chinese water torture. My notes below are in bold, you know the drill. (more…)
Sorry I don’t have any Doritos recipes, and no, there is no one in my office that steals Doritos. I don’t particularly like Doritos, but that’s all beside the point.Turns out, some guy who’s originally from hometown stars in a video that is one of 5 semi finalists of the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. What’s more ‘Murican that football and Doritos!? Okay, actually, there are probably a lot of things…
Sorry, I can’t help you there. But you can still read this blog if it makes you feel better about yourself. Welcome to Bitchin’ in the Kitchen! (more…)
