It is currently my favorite season of the year, PUMPKIN FLAVORED THINGS SEASON. So, this morning I decided to try out a new pumpkin scones recipe. They turned out moist and delicious, even those I opted to make them without the sugar laden glaze… I would highly recommend this recipe, I had mine with a cup of green tea with honey, perfect! Pumpkin on, BITCHES!
I am on a mild health kick currently. I am trying to work out at least 5 days a week, eat healthy, and get enough sleep. Sounds so easy in theory, right? Shit, was I wrong. Said healthy kick was my initial motivation to try and make oat bran muffins. I was not totally sold at first that they were going to taste even halfway decent. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Check out the recipe below. I just used the one off my box of oat bran, because, I’m really creative and all. (more…)
This morning while I was looking for something to eat for breakfast, I realized that my cupboards were particularly bare… like, if someone broke in it might look like no one actually lived here. Unless they looked in my closet, that is. I did have a box of pancake mix though, but regular pancakes are boring as shit. So, I decided to make them not boring! (more…)
Sorry, more muffins. I really really like muffins. Like, a lot. I’ve mentioned I’m always rushing around in the morning because I’d much rather sleep in than have a calm, relaxing morning. I like the challenge of sleeping in as late as possible, then trying to get ready as fast as I can and still make it to my 9 am meetings at work. Rarely am I late. I take pride in my routine. (more…)
When I said I was in love with PaleOMG, I was not kidding. Sorry, I’m not sorry. Today I made Juli’s Snack Attack: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Balls. This is my shit. In my opinion, ‘balls’ should’ve been spelled ‘bawls,’ but that’s irrelevant. I made these once before and they turned out amazing. They were a great snack to grab for breakfast when I’m running late for work, or when I’m too lazy to actually make something substantial. Comments in BOLD. BALL ON, BITCHES. (more…)
Today I was feeling super inspired by the Protein Pumpkin Pie Chia Pudding recipe from PaleOMG that I recently blogged about, here. Since it turned out so well I wanted to try my luck at another chia breakfast pudding recipe. I happened to have two lemons in my fridge that had been there for a while, so I decided to put them to use. I didn’t really measure anything because I was just dickin’ around with the recipe but below are my best guesstimates.
So, first let me say that I am IN LOVE with Juli Bauer”s blog, PaleOMG. Like, really really in love. I do not follow a paleo diet (also known as the “caveman diet,” click here for more info on it). However, I do agree with one of the main underlying principles of the paleo diet, and that is to avoid processed foods. It’s simple, processed foods are shitty for you. (more…)
As I’ve mentioned before, I usually don’t have time to prepare a real breakfast in the morning. I’d rather make myself look pretty for work than prepare a 7 course meal and sip tea. Seriously. So, one quick and easy way for my lazy ass to have any breakfast is if I make a smoothie and drink it on my way to work.
